Western District Health Service (WDHS) was successful in 2007 in attracting funding of $2.9 million over two years to deliver the Sustainable Farm Families program in partnership with the Department of Primary Industries across Victoria.  The program will be delivered to 1,000 farmers from 2007 until 2009.

The program has received significant interest from agricultural groups and farmers wanting to participate in the program.  The program will be delivered over two years with a two day workshop in the first year and a one and a half day workshop in the second year.

Farmers who have completed the program to date have said the program enhanced their overall health with everything from better eating to improved farm safety.
